The Breed - Elite & Merit Cows

The NBBS initiated the Elite- and Merit Cow Awards program to reward cows (and their breeders) that perform under the harsh Namibian farming conditions. Selection criteria are based on the cow’s fertility as well as her breeding values and these cows really are the golden girls of the Namibian Brahman breed. The winners of these awards receive a certificate and the results are published in the local media.
